Spokesperson for Proposition 8

I originally posted this on another blog on November 11, but wanted to share it with everyone here too.

This is a better articulation of my thoughts on the matter than I could possibly muster.

My name is Josh Nankivel, and I started this site to allow anyone easy access to the world of blogging and express their views on topics related to non-theism. This includes church/state separation, the nature of morality, current events in the secular and religious communities, and pretty much anything else close to being on topic. 1. “What is it TO you?”

It’s as simple as that. People need to really themselves that.

“…and the other guy counts, too.”

    Sing it, KO.

  2. “What is it to you?” just doesn’t work for people who claim that they are opposing gay marriage in order to prevent people from getting married to seventeen underage iguanas. They have made it their business by obsessing over paranoid fantasies, involving the slipperiest of slopes, invoking Jesus whenever possible, in order to justify the continued and deliberate exclusion of people from the rights of marriage, due entirely to the fact that they do not have the proper genitalia. It would be ridiculous if it weren’t an idea supported by so many people.

  3. Hi,

I saw you (the proprietor of this blog) started following me on twitter. I followed back. As a staunch atheist your blog will interest me as well, so I will visit it from time to time.

I have written a post on prop 8 that proposes a subtle twist why the way the vote went is a bad thing for America. If you’re interested: http://www.onepostperday.com/?p=400

I am neither American nor hetero so my involvement in this is remote and biased. All the more reason to write a blogpost from another angle than my personal one.

On a sidenote: the onepostperday.com blog contains many pieces on atheism as well, as my path is often crossed by believers who think they are somehow higher up the foodchain than non-believers.
